Description

Sharpless 101 - the so called Tulip Nebula - is an reflection and emission nebula region in the constellation Cygnus. Just outside the Tulip the shockfront of ionized gas driven by the energy of Cygnus X-1 and its companion star. Cyg X-1 is the strongest X-ray source kown so far. Cyg X-1 is considered to be a possible black hole.
