Description

The Andromeda Galaxy is the largest visible galaxy in the night sky, visible with the naked eye even from moderately light-polluted areas.

It is a spiral galaxy, almost twice as large in diameter and houses twice as many stars as our own Milky Way.

Andromeda is ~2.5 million lightyears away but is travelling towards us and will collide and merge with our own galaxy in ~4.5 billion years.

Also visible in the image are 2 of the dwarf satellite galaxies of Andromeda: M32 and M110.

Telescope: Sky-Watcher Evostar ED80 Black Diamond

Camera: ZWO ASI294MC Pro
