Description

Another dark nebula housing a cluster of young stars burning bright and blue. A lot like the Iris Nebula, which I'm working on concurrently, but with more blue reflection than most LDNs.

I haven't run across this much on Astrobin. Not sure why as the surrounding dark nebulousity is lovely and the nearby star cluster adds something too.

I was away at the Oregon Star Party for three nights with no internet whatsoever. That meant I had to set the remote rig on "Loop" with CCDAutopilot - something I never do. Luckily, it worked. The only issue was that the command to raise the CCD temprature during the day did not trigger. So the camera stayed on at 100% for days.

Searching for more info on this after I completed it, I found an APOD of this a year or two ago. That showed an SNR in Ha too. So I guess I'll start the Ha capture tonight...

EDIT: After a full night of 30 minute Ha subs not a trace of the SNR was seen. I went back to the APOD and saw that this data came from the Subaru telescope. OK, moving on now...
