Description

Imaged August 3, 2019 in Cresswell, NC, at the edge of Lake Phelps, a 16,000 acre lake surrounded by cotton fields. The skies there are Bortle 2 and it was a very clear night with the 13% waxing moon below the horizon by 11:07pm.

The camera used is a Hutech modified Canon 6D with a Samyang 135mm at f/2.8 and a dew heater that I turned on around 1:30am or so, set to medium after an initial setting to high to clear some dew, sitting on an iOptron SkyGuider Pro, using a Celestron Power Tank for the dew heater.

The image benefitted from DrizzleIntegration (scale 2) to round out the smaller stars. That's why it's 2x the original resolution. First time working with DrizzleIntegration this week. Second version, I did some noise reduction and deconvolution and resampled the result down to lower resolution, then trimmed a few pixels off the top and left edge. Will probably give the data another re-process while the moon is nearly full.
