Description

Sharpless 132 is a faint emission nebula at the Cepheus/Lacerta border, located 10,000 to 12,000 light-years away from Earth, thus placing itself inside the Perseus Arm of our galaxy. It is also known as the Lion Nebula due to its resemblance to the king of the jungle. I see two lions in this Nebula, one at peace and another roaring.

The stars responsible for the ionization of its gases are two Wolf-Rayet stars, HD 211564 (WR 152) and HD 211853 (WR 153).

It took me 6 nights to capture the data, almost equally split between Ha and Oiii. This is my longest project to date, but I am not sure my processing skills are worthy of it yet. It's not an easy target to process. It is also the first time I've used the reducer, which I have yet to figure out the correct spacing.

Comments and feedback are much appreciated.

Clear Skies!
