Description

I collected this data during a trip to an Airbnb dark site. The Fireworks Galaxy is 22 million light years away and about 1/3 the size of the Milky Way. 10 supernovae have been observed in the past 100 years, earning it the 'Fireworks' nickname. By comparison, the last supernova spotted in the Milky Way was in 1604.

Seeing was good when I collected the lum data - around 1.2" FWHM. I shot at native f/10 and did not bin. Outer portions of the galaxy can be seen throughout most of the FOV when zoomed it. I collected 5 hours of Ha but didn't include it because the Ha regions can be seen well in this LRGB image. I decided not to edit out the microlens diffraction effects of the ASI1600 because it would have also removed parts of the galaxy.
