Melotte 15 - LHaRGB (via OSC)

While still not on par with being on the correct backfocus, I used some of the shot data (heavily cropped) to fill a night in an attempt to make something out of the data created. Backfocus went from 21 to 25 to 29mm via adapters and is still not correct (and definitely not on the official backfocus distance - way beyond already).

Later on during the second and third night, I tried to add, mainly, more RGB data because I liked this focused frame of the "wizard". And although I didn't use most of the full data due to the banana shaped stars in the corners (still work to be done), I liked the exercise in PI to get a better feel for the tooling.

The most difficult part for me is always to balance the faint nebula and the main objects without loosing to much on the nebula site. Up till now I can't reproduce the method because I fiddle a lot with the details and mixing and spiking of data once again with original data. I stop (after many hours) un till my gut-feeling get triggered saying "this is enough"

The starless picture is a first attempt doing this, but I definitely have gone to far and introduced artifacts that shouldn't have been in there. To lessen the damage , I removed the scrambled stars with the clonestamp.

Description: A first attempt to create a starless picture. Not that successful as I hoped and therefore the clonestamp utility needed to be used to remove some of the bigger stars. Nevertheless, I like the feel of it. It has a hint of biblical atmosphere about it.
