Description

The isthmus between Mare Tranquillitatis and Mare Fecunditatis with the Taruntius crater as a guard. In the frame center you can see two linear structures - Rupes Cauchy and Rima Cauchy. Don't they remind you of something? Yes, there are two twin forms on Mare Nubium - Rupes Recta and Rima Birt. And those - more known and those in the Sea of Calm - much more subtle, are located inside an ancient crater completely flooded with lava. It is such a curiosity that despite the thick layer of lava, here and there you can see traces of old large impacts.
