Description

First DSO with this C9.25. I need to learn how to use this but I sure like the big aperture. I am still working on collimation with this , I don't think it is dialed in just yet but it is different than collimating a Newt, that's for sure. It does seem to be fast enough using the 0.63 reducer. It seems the reducer corrector does flatten the field a bit and I did not notice any significant coma.

I chose M2 for this exercise for several reasons, first, it's beautiful and interesting. Second, I have been doing a lot of globular clusters in the last few months and I thought my familiarity with type of DSO would make figuring out the C9.25 a little easier.

M2 is one of the largest of the globulars orbiting the galaxy at about 125 ly in diameter and contains about 150,000 stars. It is another very old cluster estimated to be 13b years old as evidenced by it's relatively low metalacity.

As always, any comments and/or criticism are welcome!

CS,

Mike
