      Description

Rather happy with the SNR for this dim object, considering the limited integration time

Description: One of the most interesting parts of the nebula is the bright part on the top left. This nebula is called Gyulbudaghian’s Nebula. This bipolar reflection nebula is generated by shock waves from a contracting protostar, PV Cephei. The nebula changes its shape and luminosity very fast, as illustrated below in the small animation.

Thanks to Bernhard Zimmermann, Jerry Macon, Thomas V. Davis, Lloyd ‘Deep Sky West’ and Leo Shatz for providing me with their images for this animation.
