Description

According to my Google search, no color images of G2.4+1.4 have been published. Apparently, this will be the first one.

G2.4+1.4 is a Wolf Rayet nebula located in Sagittarius. It has been the subject of intense scientific study. The central star, WR102, is the most extreme oxygen sequence Wolf Rayet star known.

I imaged all three narrowband channels: Ha, OIII and SII. The object of interest generated distinct signals in Ha and OIII, but practically nothing in SII. I used Pixelmath to create a custom palette. Because the background has such dense clumps of gas, dust and stars, this was not easy processing.

Tech Notes:

FLI Proline 16803, 9 mm pixel, 4096 X 4096
