Description

Observing Mars just 10 days before the opposition of 2016 (min. distance 0.51au, max. magnitude -2.0m that year), not hindered by the Moon yet. Magnitude during that night was -1.8m, defocused image of Mars easily visible in the background, with distinct color.

Observing from Montauk Point, NY on May 12, 2016 with Alter M703 180mm f/10 Maksutov-Cassegrain on IOptron iEQ30 Pro equatorial mount. Using Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX7K camera for taking the overview shorts on a tripod using 1sec ISO80 exposures.
