Description

Wargentin

Craters of the genuine type Wargentin are few

and far between on the lunar surface.

It has the appearance of currency and

was filled with lava or fissures

pipes inside the walls dacratera.

In the case of Wargentin, this seems

have reached such a level that

breached the wall and flowed west

about it for the surrounding plain.

Its appearance is a small plateau,

and the mystery has been to explain why Wargentin is not darker, as the lava lakes in the north and south ends of Schickard. One theory, supported by some evidence of observation, is that it was significantly attenuated by ejecta from Tycho, which is higher than the surrounding terrain.

Anyway this crater is one of my next targets for astrophotography because I do not want to settle with just the photos below taken from the QuickMap.
