Description

The Rosette nebula lies about 5200 light years from Earth in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way galaxy. The open cluster NGC 2244 (Caldwell 50) is closely associated with the nebulosity, the stars of the cluster having been formed from the nebula's matter. The radius of the Rosette is 65 light years.

Only 5 hours' narrow-band data. It has been a terrible winter for astronomy in my area. Less than 10 hours of clear skies in the last 6 weeks. I had hoped to get more data, including RGB stars, but it now looks like another week of clouds ahead, so I'm posting what I have.

I hope you like it.
