Description

Sadr is of course trivially easy to find as it is a 2nd magnitude star. The only challenge is making up your mind about how you want to frame the shot. I'm continuing to play with the Finder/Guider focal reducer combination, and continuing to see pretty severe aberration around the right edge of the image. It's hot, and windy again; fortunately that doesn't affect things much at this imaging scale. Chiller at 2.5 A, 20 °C. I put a couple of wires across the front of the scope to make diffraction spikes, hoping to use them to help with focusing (that didn’t really work). I really need to make a Bahtinov mask for this scope if I am to continue using it. A lot of moonlight made this image more difficult than it needed to be, but we have to take what the sky gives.
