Description

I finally did my first astro expedition. I met went to a dark location just 20 minutes from where I live (where I do my imaging) and the bortle scale drops from 8 to 4! I was also able to test my Jackery 240 and laptop autonomy and after about 3 hours of everything running, the battery was still at 65% capacity, so for the short summernights, this little battery does an excellent job. I was running everything with AC cables of course to optimize power consumption.

What a difference it makes from bortle 8 to 4! This is about 1 h of 3 minutes subs on M101, using only a UV/IR cut filter. For the first time, I did not have to run any gradient removal tool, just a simple background calibration in App. Honestly, I think that to get this amount of details from my front yard, I would need 5 hours of integration using a light pollution filter and a big job a gradient removal.

I'm definitely looking forward to going there again, once the nights become longer again, astro dark is now about 3 hours here.
