Description

Hickson 93  is one of  Paul Hickson's 'Compact Galaxy' groups, estimated to be around 265 million light years distant. It also designated as number 99 in Arp's catalogue. It is dominated by the giant elliptical galaxy NGC 7550 (in upper centre here). The  spiral galaxy NGC 7549 just below this is highly distorted with long arcs of material being pulled from its centre by gravitational interaction with its neighbours.

The challenge here is to image the extensive but faint 'halo' around the core of NGC 7550. There are hints of it here, but it would require more data, I think, to pull out decisively.
