Description

The Wizard Nebula is a well-known emission nebula in Cepheus. It contents NGC7380, an open cluster made up of young stars, still surrounded by their natal cloud of dust and gas. The ionized gas gives rise to the Sh2-142 nebula. With a 7nm H-alpha filter I have been able to highlight the red clouds of ionized gas, but I did not record the rare and beautiful blue reflection areas that are evident in Hubble palette photos of this nebula. Then, I processed the blue filter shots and included them as OIII shots. It became clear that the regions on the left are dominated by emission clouds, while on the right the reflection clouds dominate.
