Description

In the jungles of Cygnus the elephants roam in peace, growing big and strong and finally wondering off to start their own nebulae, like the famous Elephant's Trunk, on the far side of the great rift. I don't know if this nebula has a Barnard Catalogue designation, or is otherwise named. Its not commonly imaged, except in widefield portrayals of the Cygnus region. One of the reasons is it is nestled between brighter structures (The Propeller Nebula being one). The valleys between the ridges - the jungles, are excessively dim, though filled with structure. To display them brightly, such as this, requires copious data. I really needed more. That is why the pall of noise suppression has cast its shadow over the image- much like illegal poachers and the seemingly unstoppable blight of deforestation and climate change cast their darkness over Earthly jungles.
