Description

At last a clear spell after recent storms. I managed this 80m exposure (8x10m subs) despite some intermittent high cloud. I chose a more exposed position to image B33 under a quarter moon, using my dual narrowband (Ha and OIII) filter. Given the gusty conditions I was quite pleased with the outcome (the autoguider struggled to keep up with RMS 1.8”). Despite this I am pleased with the focus (homemade Bhatinov mask) and level of detail in the ‘horsehead’ (although I think it looks more like a seahorse). I still need to work out how to apply flats to this Raw FITS image, and can then post process in Startools, and hopefully bring out more detail. A definite improvement over my earlier attempts.
