Here is the plan for my setup, Im ditching the USB3 cable run. Now the Intel compute stick is going to get mounted right onto the dovetail, with the rest of the electronics. This means USB3 terminates right there, hurray.
the acquisition SW runs on win10 pro 64bit, on the compute stick itself. bluetooth connects it over to the mount, so I can loose the EQDir adaptor, and I might as well take out the ST4 since im pulseguiding.

Now the setup and config all moves with the kit. Connecting from home desktop or out at dark skies, its always the compute stick doing the work, so I dont need to reconfigure anything.

The compute stick draws some extra current, so I have a couple new buck converters going in. First to give it a 24v > 12v drop, and then a beefy 5V buck to power the USB peripherals AND the compute stick, good for 10A.
the 24VDC will carry some more current for me over the cable length without ending up with thicker cables, plus there is overhead to keep the 12V stable under worst case * 2 conditions .... dew heaters on full, camera chiller starting up, compute stick on load test :)
Plus it opens some options to be able to connect in an ebike battery, when power is not avail.
