Description

Center of frame is the giant elliptical galaxy M49 at roughly 150,000 LY across and 56MLY away.  Many other galaxies populate the frame in this marvelously crowded region of the Virgo Cluster.  Others of note include NGC 4488 the backwards S shaped lenticular galaxy above and slightly left of M49 and the spiral NGC 4535 towards upper left.  The NGC 4411 face on galaxy pair (A & B) adorn upper right along with a knot of at least 4 interacting galaxies above them.   The elliptical galaxy NGC 4365 dominates the lower right corner of the frame.  This is one of the first images taken with my new Borg 107FL f3.9.  I still have some minor tweaking to do with sensor distance to the reducer.  That said, it's wide and fast optics are a terrific complement to the Zeiss APQ130.
