Description

NGC6822 Barnard's Galaxy from my backyard in RGB (Rx18 Gx23 Bx20s 5 minutes subs)

NGC 6822 (also known as Barnard's Galaxy, IC 4895, or Caldwell 57) is a barred irregular galaxy approximately 1.6 million light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius. Part of the Local Group of galaxies, it was discovered by E. E. Barnard in 1884 (hence its name), with a six-inch refractor telescope.

They last joyous chill of winter have faded to 47 degrees in my Pump Shed Observatory so all the gear has been packed away until I can come with a effective cooling solution. This was from two nights in September with some good seeing and for once my neighbour's turned off their megawatt backyard LED that has forced me onto narrow band so often.
