Description

This is very likely one of the highest resolution images of this very strange/challenging area of sky. (I am showing the near native image scale here.)  The colors are shifted from what is expected to due to the veil(s) of dust through which we peer. They filter the colors in such a way that the hues appeared shifted a bit. In addition the bright portion in the center  is distinctly yellow  which is a less common color for a nebula to have. The v e r y dark clouds of dust add additional drama. It is all too easy to increase the contrast (for the sake of the rest of the field) and lose the highlights of the clouds which would take away a significant element to the image.
