Description

Particularly colorful sunset with many atmospheric layer induced distortions observed on Jan 25, 2006 in Novosibirsk, RU (+54.9 deg. latitude) under the harsh weather conditions with ground temperature under -40 deg, C (with minimum temperature recorded overnight of -43 deg. C)

The composite of 5 single frame exposures with handheld camera (1/60-1/250s, f/5.2-7.4, ISO50, f=89mm (350mm in 35mm equivalent)).


Another unusual sunset observed from the same spot just 2 days after under "less harsh" conditions (-38 deg. C=)) is reported under [1]:
