Description

This is the second in a series of nightscape images taken during a camping trip to Assateague Island State Park in Maryland. The state park is located on on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean with the campsites just over the sand dunes. The skies are Bortle ~4 and make for some fantastic skywatching and astrophotography. The moon was up during this trip so not ideal conditions for deep sky imaging, but I made the best of it with some nightscapes with the seashore nicely illuminated by the moon. This image was taken from beach access path at the top of the sand dune facing approximately North-East. Mars is the most prominent bright object and is located on the right side of the image . The Pleiades are seen just rising and are one the left side of the image with the California Nebula is faintly visible to the left of the Seven Sisters...

Imaged using a Nikon D5300 (full spectrum modified), IDAS HEUIB-II (H-α Enhanced UV IR Blocking) filter, and 14 mm Rokinon lens at F2.8. Exposures were 5 seconds at ISO-1600. Noise reduction and sharpening using DeNoise AI.

Combined 10 subs using Sequator (composition = align stars/freeze ground, auto brightness=ON, HDR=ON, LP reduction = ON/uneven (intelligently agressive=OFF), enhance starlight=ON).
