Description

Eagle Nebula & Pillars of Creation in HaRGB

-----------------------

The Eagle Nebula is an emission nebula of ionized gas and dust surrounding a region of active star formation, which contains young star clusters.

The entire nebula is around 70x55 light years across.

Also visible in this image are:

- The famous "Pillars of Creation", the structure with the 3 'pillars' at the center of the image.

- The "Stellar Spire", the extended structure above the pillars near the center of the image.

- "NGC 6611", the star cluster of hot massive young stars right next to the pillars.

This image is the result of 17 hours of Hydrogen-alpha and color data I collected in April-May 2020.

10-hour Ha version:

-----------------------

Total imaging time: 17 hours (10 hours in H-alpha + 7 hours in color)

Telescope: Sky-Watcher Evostar ED100 Black Diamond

Camera: ZWO ASI294MC Pro
