Description

Arp 1 - the very first galaxy in Halton Arp's catalog of freaky galaxies. I had taken a wide angle shot of the Tiger's Eye galaxy with my Redcat that I got for Christmas and noticed NGC 2857, or Arp 1 in that frame. Its tight curl was interesting, so I targeted it with my C11 in March. I had no idea that NGC 2856 and NGC 2854 were also interesting. Apparently there is a bridge of material between these 2 galaxies (not visible in my shot). You can glimpse a short tail on NGC 2856, the middle galaxy.
