Description

The above image is a stack of 21 images, each 0.008277 seconds long. My goal with this set of exposures was to find the white dwarf companion of Sirius, known as "The Pup". This image contrasts greatly with another image I took of Sirius, with a long exposure of 40 seconds:



If visible, SkySafari informed me that The Pup was supposed 11.1" away at PA 68.6°. By plate solving other images I took, the camera was only rotated an insignificant 0.1°, and with a pixel scale of 0.372 pixels/arcsec the white dwarf should lie about 30 pixels from the center of Sirius, just beyond the visible edge of the glare in this image, though well within the bright halo. Do you see The Pup? I can't quite convince myself that I see it.
