Description

M35 is an open cluster of (probably) 418 young blue stars around 3000 light years away whilst NGC2158, the apparently smaller cluster to the bottom left of M35 is much older, at 2 billion years, and four times as far away at roughly 12,000 light years.  The two clusters are unrelated .... but do look nice due to the line of sight and different colours!

4 hours of OSC data from last February 2022, reprocessed March '23.
