Description

Nova Delphini 2013 (PNVJ20233073+2046041) as seen on August 14, 2013 from the backyard. Images taken at 05:42 UTC on August 15.

Note the appearance of The Blue Flash (NGC 6905) planetary nebula in the upper right.

Taken with a modified, cooled Pentax K10D camera on Stellarvue SV4 refractor.

Three 1200 second sub exposures calibrated with 17 darks, 64 flats, 260 bias with Maxim.

Stacked with DSS.

Processed with PixInsight.

Steps in PI were:

Dynamic crop to trim edges, Dynamic PSF to determine shape, Deconvolution following Manuel Jimenez' instructions, Masked stretch, Histogram stretch, Curves for saturation.
