Description

This was a test imaging session (under the near Paris light polluted sky) to assess some few evolution in equipment / software :

- Homemade system to remove residual "APO focuser system flexure"

- Homemade dual stepper motor driver (based on Arduino Nano).

- Outdoor computer remotely controlled via AnyDesk from indoor warm place

The results :
- the improved focuser display now almost 0 shift (during focusing and exposure) and more importantly is not introducing any bending, during long imaging session, that was limiting my ability to properly collimate the APO and camera tilt.
- the stepper motor resolved the reliabilty issue that I experienced with the USB focus driver. It will also allow me to run a dual optic rig on my mount with auto focusing feature.
- AnyDesk works well but the range of the home wifi is limited.

Next step now is to fine tune APO collimation.

Notes : in the new images, the color balance of the HOO image (E) has been done on the nebula and on the stars under a star mask.

The OIII signal is very weak, I will take some more data under a darker sky later.
