Description

Reaching the endgame for imaging of Venus during the 2021 evening apparition.  These images were captured on the night of December 20, 2021. Venus was 53.5 arcsec in diameter and ~11% illuminated in this image. Taken around sunset under average seeing conditions.  This is likely my last Venus for this apparition with Venus now being nearly too low to see from my location at sunset.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR Cut filter, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture (see below for exposure settings). Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 5% of ~6000 frames captured over 180 seconds). Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6. Derotated one images in WinJUPOS.

Exposure settings for UV-IR Cut Filter images: Shutter=0.6ms, Gain=250, Histogram=52%, ~35 FPS (capturing a much larger FOV now with corresponding lower FPS)
