Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is located 50,000 light years away in the constellation of Vulpecula at a declination of +27 degrees.  The nebula spans 3 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a width of 40 light years.

I could not find anything of substance written on this fascinating object.  In fact, there is much confusion over what it is.  This is the only object that I can recall SIMBAD labelling as Interstellar Matter.  Some sources describe it as a planetary nebula, as it has fairly strong OIII and HII content.  But the structure does not look like a PN.  Other sources call it an emission nebula, which makes sense as there appears to be a obscured cluster of stars hidden within near the center.

The most interesting part of this object is the cool, oddly symmetric curving dust cloud, located just left and below the star cluster.
