Description

IC 1805 and IC 1848

The Heart and Soul nebulae

Data acquired on 2013-09-08, at the Ashton Observatory public telescope pads in Iowa, USA. My IR filter modded Canon 550D / T2i was mounted on a tracking mount and shooting through a borrowed Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L lens. The night was warm, so to protect against undue noise in the camera I kept exposures short, at 180 seconds. Careful image calibration was done to remove as much noise as possible.

Image details:

36x180sec ISO800 sub exposures, unguided

Calibrated with dark, flat, and bias frames
