Description

The Sharpless Nebula 274 is a large planetary nebula, having been discovered in 1955 by the astonomist George Abell. As it is very extensive, its surface brightness varies between the magnitude +15.99 and +25. It is about 1500 light years away in the direction of the Gemini constellation. Planetary nebulae represent the end of the evolution of stars like our Sun.
