Description

It is not the "Leo triplet" but a nice little crater trio, consisting of Hevelius (117km) in the middle, Cavalerius and Lohrmann as the smallest of the three. The three craters are located right next to the Oceanus Procellarum, which is approximately 85% the size of the Earth's Mediterranean Sea.

I'm not quite happy with the result when I think of the very changeable seeing conditions. I struggled with the right mix of sharpness and noise throughout the whole processing. In the end, it is true that good seeing cannot be substituted by anything except by very good seeing. Maybe the gain (344) was also too high. That's why I'm happy that the two intersecting rilles are clearly visible within Hevelius. These Rimae Hevelius remind me of the crossed swords that are the trademark of the world-famous Meissen porcelain manufacturer.

A crater with a concentric secondary crater is very inconspicuously in the middle at the bottom of the image. This is the crater Riccioli C with Riccioli CA. I would have liked to have an image from above.

I used 400 out of 5000 frames. For this recording I tried a very short exposure time of 2.165 ms with a correspondingly higher gain of 344. The frame rate was very low at 23 fps, for whatever reason.

As always, I look forward to harsh criticism and recommendations from your experience.
