Description

This is my favourite northern deep sky object, which is unfortunately not accessible from my southerly location. So I have gratefully processed Nikon DSLR data very kindly shared by AstroBin member Wei-Hao Wang.

I just love the extensive dust wafting throughout Cepheus, contrasted by the bright Iris reflection nebula. Another highlight for me is the Mira variable star T Cep which is brighter than Vega in the IR, but only 7th-9th magnitude in visible light. IR leakage through the DSLR Bayer matrix results in the purple colour in this image.
