Description

This image field is a composition of the popularly known IC410 open cluster / nebulosity object. It is also known as Sharpless 236 and LBN 807. Embedded within is the open cluster NGC 1893, the "interstellar matter" object (ISM) Cederblad 43, the dark nebula LDN 1530, and the well known "tadpoles" (Simies 129 and 130) . This image field is part of the Sharpless 230 / LBN796 structure. Its center is in this image field and encompasses IC405, IC410, and IC417 which are well known objects in themselves. This is an active star forming region with many young stellar objects. The IC410 star cluster / nebulosity structure is about 6,150 light years distant in the Aur OB2 association. These objects and some of the brighter stars are seen in the annotated image. The horizontal FOV is 120'. Image scale of the full size image is 2.4 arcsec/pix.
