Description

Also known as NGC1893 or even IC 410, this emission nebula is some 12,000 light years away from us in the constellation of Auriga. The bright hydrogen cloud measures more than 100 light-years long. It was sculpted by stellar winds and radiation emitted from the open star cluster NGC 1893 nestled within it. The two tadpole-shaped currents of matter are relatively dense and are possible locations for star formation. These cosmic tadpoles are about 10 light-years long.
