Description

Mars on the morning of Sun 28 Jun 2020 AEST.

Canyon full of dust again..

Imaged the Red Planet in fair to good seeing. Unfortunately had to stay outdoors in a chilly -4°C as my laptop refused to connect the mount reporting 'unrecognisable device' instead. Had multiple tries and gave up eventually choosing to start the video capture.

This is a single 4 minute stack of approx 31.5K frames showing Valles Marineris region and a receding South Polar Cap, taken shortly before 6 am local time.

It seems that we are in for another period of dust activity with bright clouds reminiscent of 2018 outbreak. I could detect them easily on live preview, will try to monitor tomorrow weather permitting.
