Description

45min of integral LRGB exposure of Neptune and Triton (29au away) captured remotely using Telescope #1 (ASA-RC D = 1m f/6.8, FLI ProLine 16803) system of ChileScope observatory, over 2 imaging sessions carried out with the interval of almost exactly 3 days apart on Oct 9, 2020 and Oct 12, 2020.

Only 3x 90s frames were obtained during the first observation session, so compensation for proper motion of Neptune wasn't necessary. The acquisition session lasted for 40 min during the second observation session, and also seeing was much better, so compensation for proper motion of Neptune was necessary.

The time gap between the sessions matched almost precisely (0.51x) half of the period of rotation of Triton around Neptune so it appears on the opposite sides of Neptune, as expected, with angular separation of 16" from the main body.

The brightest star in this entire field is of +12.5m magnitude.
