Description

My second ever M31 capture, this time with a cooled CMOS mono camera and filters versus my previous DSLR effort about a year ago.

It's an early M31, I was too impatient to wait for the autumn/fall evenings when this incredible, awe-inspiring object will be highest in the sky and went for it in late summer here in the Northern Hemisphere.

You all know the score with M31...2.5 million light years away and heading towards us...the furthest object from earth that can be seen by the naked eye (not in my back garden though)...a trillion or so stars making it at least twice as large as our Milky Way...was initially thought to be a nebula, until Hubble figured out that it was way too far away from us for that and had to be another galaxy...there's so much to say about Andromeda.

Captured using APT, pre-processed using APP and post-processed in Pixinsight. Edit: An extra night of data added using NINA.

Thanks for looking, and clear skies!

Description: Had another go at this, including some new data captured with N.I.N.A....cut down on sharpening and saturation and also culled some of the original data due to high FHWMs.
