Description

NGC 6946, is a medium-sized, face-on spiral galaxy about 25 million light years away from Earth. It is known as the Fireworks Galaxy due to the many supernovae observed within it.

The weather in Maine has been miserable. Work, the kids, and clouds have provided for very little sensor time the last couple of months. I was barely able to sneak this one out over two nights in all of May. All in all, I collected about 8 hrs of data, but had to get rid of more than half due to terrible seeing. Nevertheless, I was able to put this together and I kinda like how it turned out
