Description

This is a faint super nova remnant. It has an obvious Ha element to it. The OIII is there too but is really faint. I collected SII data as well but chose not to use as I liked the HOO combination better.

I've been sitting on this image for awhile. I didn't want to post it since in my mind’s eye it's incomplete. It’s such a cool looking object, I just had to finally share it.

We’ll call this image a work in progress. Even though it has over 24 hours of exposure time, I feel it could stand at least double that. Stretching the data further just degraded the image too much. I'll catch up with it on the next trip around the Sun.

179x300 sec Ha

117x300 sec OIII

Total exposure time of 24.7 hours
