Description

I have always wanted to image a galaxy cluster.

A few issues occurred here. First one being its not really a galaxy cluster. The vicinity of NGC4216 is believed to contain only 22 galaxies. But most are part of the Virgo cluster though.

Second is lack of RGB integration and a red halo. I reduced a bit the red halo, but it needs to be processed further.

Overhaul I call this one a major success, man are they galaxies there. It is crazy to think they are so far apart.

Biggest and brightest galaxies are part of the Virgo cluster. They are located between 9 and 361 million light years from us.

The biggest is NGC4216 situated at 55 mly, it is about twice the size of our own galaxy.

Bottom right is NGC4189, a galaxy located at 96 mly and about 50% bigger than the Milky Way.

At its left is NGC4193, located 113 mly at just a tad bigger than its "neighbor".

On the right you can see IC3062 that is the farthest galaxy I have identified at 361 mly, at this point because there are fainter, smaller and I believe farther galaxies on this picture. Just have a tour in full resolution you will see ;-)

Also this sort'of the last picture I gathered with my good old ASI1600MM, and it is a good ending. (I have M31 and M33 Lum subs, but as I don't have RGB I don't know if I'll process them or not)
