Description

Faint and elusive, IC 443, also called The Jellyfish Nebula, is a supernova remnant located in the Gemini constellation, about 5000 light years from Earth. It is believed that it originated from a supernova that exploded between 3000 and 30,000 years ago. The nucleus of the progenitor star responsible for this event formed the neutron star CXOU J061705.3 + 222127.
