Description

I wanted this wide field around an area of star formation as GUM26. There is an interesting image from ESO, including some of the physics or astrophysics behind the object, see the link https://www.eso.org/public/images/potw2003a/
There is a very nice image of the GUM26 by Andy 01, using Ha and SII filters, there you can appreciate the large background of gas in the region. The link to Andy's image is https://www.astrobin.com/w0qtv9/?nc=group&nce=74
Also, using a quite large scope (An ASA RC1000), there is a beautiful Hubble palette image of the nebula, by John Ebersole, https://www.astrobin.com/o80ayw/ using chilescope.

In the image, it is clear the open cluster NGC 2866, top right hand side of the image and, on the opposite side, the dark nebulas, Dobashi 5643 and 5638.
