Description

Hello Friends,

this time a short interruption from my running project "rarely imaged PNs": The very iconic IC 59 and 63 around Gamma Cas.

The interesting of this object is the combination of the strong red Ha emission and the fainter blue reflection part, which results in purple collor when overlapping. The dramatic contrast variance makes it challenging to process. To visualize the fluffy cloudy structure, I have also uploaded the Ha-Lum channel.

The color palette is actually rather unusual for me, since I prefer less color, but in this case, I think it is legitimate to use. Well, lets consider that as a small detour into candy land...

Before someone complains about the "satellite trail" on top. I have to explain, this is the diffraction spike of Gamma Cassiopeia. 90 degree rotated you slightly see the other one.  I have kept them on purpose, as well as the gradient of Gamma Cas, since the belong to the to the scene.

I hope you like it

Please enjoy!
Rüdiger
