Description

This is my telescope during testing in my backyard observatory.

Today I studied the MesuMounts meridian flip behavior. This is different from my previous mount, a 10Micron GM2000. The behavior needs to be known for use with ACP.

I think I figured it out now.

Just underneath the camera you can see the simple stepper motor that is connected directly to the fine focus knob of the focuser. The controller is homebuilt, it's an Arduino based OnFocus (search for Stellar Journey if you want to build one yourself)

All cables go underneath the saddle plate and are lead through both axis, there is an 80mm diameter opening, so you won't run out of space easily.

The blue DMK31 webcam with wide angle lens on the top tube rings is used as a finder.

At the moment I am working on the spider for the secondary, making it more rigid and the spider double vanes exactly square. This will improve the cleanliness of the spikes in the images.

When all work and testing is done, the scope will be moved back to my remote observatory in Burlage, Germany.
